Nov 16 – Our education department will present a workshop on Saturn Transits. The workshop is from 1-5 pm and will be taught by Lucky Sweeny; members $45, non-members $65. Proceeds from the workshop will be used to support our chapter.

Kelly Lee Phipps is the author of "Celestial Renaissance: A Revolution of Astrology" and the forthcoming "The Tao of Astrology". With over twenty years experience in astrology, he is actively involved in advancing the field of astrology based in Asheville, NC, interpreting birth charts for folks across the globe. He is also the co-host of The Cosmic Weather astrology podcast (www.cosmicweather.com) and a budding filmmaker with his debut film “Return of the Magi”, a documentary of authentic astrology.

The Return of the Magi is the first ever documentary of authentic astrology, showcasing interviews with over 47 of the world’s top astrologers, interlaced with a simple story of a woman going through a crisis and finding an astrologer who changes her life forever.

Discussed technique for exploring your birth vision using a template he created. Talked about poetic astrology, that we are cosmic story-tellers. The four elements together give beautiful images that describe movement. The moon is the key to emotional contentment in the chart; where we find inner peace. For example, Barack Obama has Moon in Gemini – finds contentment through communication.
Kelly likes to use classical rulers of the chart. Look at the chart as a painting.
Discussed qualities and elements of the planets. Qualities: hot, dry, cold, moist; Elements: fire, earth, air, water. Chart shown comes from Hellenistic era.
Chiron is the key to your destiny. Uranus is the Divine Mind.
Dignity – how much strength or honor a planet has in a chart.
Buckminster Fuller geodesic domes – emergent properties: combining two simple things
Example chart: William Butler Yeats – Life is not a problem to be solved but a mystery to be lived and a source of revelation. Emergent properties – humanitarian streak, power paradigm, wise elder, performer, law: became a senator in Ireland
Leonardo da Vinci – another grand air trine; also Steven Hawkins has a grand air trine
Waxing aspects – creating structures and building activities; waning aspects,
Applying – full of mystery and power; separating.
You tend to project your opposition.
Universe means the turning of the one. Conversation – the turning of another
Archetype – archane from archus – to govern; typos – the original governing images of the universe.
In Taoism – Five element theory describes the flow of change in any cycle. Fire, water, earth, wood, metal
