Feb 20 Meeting
Featured Speakers
Judy Jakubowski and Will Fellows presented a talk on Magi Astrology. Judy is a psychologist at John Hopkins University as well as an astrologer. Will is an electrical engineer, inventor and astrologer who was also raised by an astrologer.
Summary of Judy's talk:
The intention of the talk is to give a basic understanding of Magi astrology as it relates to love relationships. Also to learn how to identify a soul-mated, true love, marital-type relationship. And also to learn how to identify someone who will break your heart.
Magi astrology dates back to 1625 when a group of monks formed a secret society of astrologers in China. They were known for their remarkable ability to predict certain matters like birth, marriages, deaths, war and peace. For hundreds of years this society remained very secretive and membership was very limited. The members left their homeland in the period from 1945-1948 anticipating that the communists would overtake China. They settled in Hong Kong. The society now has a world wide membership and a chapter of the society was founded in the U.S. in 1995. There is a huge website where you can get all of this information and more at www.magisociety.com.
The use of planetary geometry is one of the secrets of the Magi Society. And this refers to the shapes and patterns that are formed when you connect planets to each other. Analyzing this planetary geometry helps in predicting certain events. When three or more planets form a symmetrical pattern in the sky, they learned that the chances of an important event happening was very high. Those eight symmetrical patterns are the yod, t-square, grand trine, grand cross, golden rectangle, grand sextile, kite, and star of David. When planets form one of these symmetrical patterns it was considered to be a significant sign and celestial sign that a big event was about to happen. (Judy passed out a chart of herself and someone else and briefly explained the process of analyzing the relationship using Magi Astrology to determine the outcome of a relationship). The planetary geometry can determine who you are the most harmonious with.
The meanings of the planets help us in improving our success in matters of love. In matters of love, these are some of the most important meanings of the planets. Venus is considered to be a romance planet, has dominion over seduction, attraction, desire in the female, the art of making love, beauty and sex appeal. Mars is considered to be a sexual planet and has dominion over the sexual drive, especially in a male. Also the body itself, aggressiveness, energy, anger, and taking action. Pluto is considered a sexual planet and it is the ruler of sexuality, of lust, of obsessive desire and the sex act. Neptune is considered a romance planet and rules longevity and anything long term such as marriage. Jupiter is symbolic of forgiveness, selfless love, fullfilled dreams, wisdom and success. Saturn is considered the planet of control and dominance. It is the restriction of what is good and expansion of what is harmful. It also signifies temptations of all kinds and the inability to resist them. It is also symbolic of deceitfulness and lies. Uranus is symbolic of freedom and independence and the urge for both. It also represents excitement, thrill-seeking and change. Mercury governs communication, and the conveyance of ideas and messages. The Moon governs emotions, the psyche, fluctuating moods, and the subconscious. Chiron, according to this system, is considered a romance planet (rather than as an asteroid) and has rulership over emotional, ties, weddings, marriages, family, children and spouse. Therefore it represents the marriage and romance target. The Chiron linkage is the most powerful linkage in relationships. When two people are attracted to each other and form a Chiron linkage, they are likely to think they are in love.
Some basic terms used are: Aspects- only conjunction, trine, square, opposition and quincunx are used. In the declinations chart they use parallel and contra-parallel. Inner Aspect - the result of the alignment of two natal planets where each person is contributing a planet and the planets form an aspect angle to each other (3 degree orb maximum). Inner aspects tell about attraction or friction between two people. Trines, conjunctions, or quincunxes assist in compatibility and are called linkages. Linkages - inner aspects that promote compatibility between two people. Activation - stressful, create short-term attraction, but end in conflict.
In every woman or man's life there is a period of time reserved by the stars when you are meant to meet that special person. This is called your Cinderella Time, when you are the most desirable and intriguing. This would be the best time to fulfill your romantic dreams. This time occurs whenever transiting Chiron is making a magical angle to your Venus, Neptune, or Jupiter, or when one of these is transiting and making a magical angle to your Chiron. You only have a couple or so in a lifetime.
Summary of Will's talk:
Will's focus was discussing how Magi astrology can be applied. The Magi principles can be applied to your natal chart, a combined alignment chart, and transit charts. It's important, for example to choose your wedding day properly. He gave an example of the chart of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston. Will explained the Magi process as applied to analyzing charts. Parallels are very key. Some planets that are not in aspect are in parallel.
Quick rules of thumb:
Look for linkages. Then looks for patterns that form. For example Tom Braden was born a superstar. He has three configurations in his chart, called a flying eagle. Take note of certain days, for example wedding days. Avoiding Saturn aspects. Make sure Chiron doesn't have bad aspects to the luminaries. Neptune is very important (the Divine plan). It shows how things in your total chart evolve. Appy the transits to your composites. List your magical aspects and your turbulent aspects for both your natal and composite chart. Look at applying and separating aspects. For example, a mercury retrograde can be applying to a natal aspect and activate it.
Will reviewed key points of charts of Michael Douglas and Katherine Zeta Jones. They were dynamic as individuals and more dynamic as a couple. They were born on the same day. Their composite chart shows that Katherine's Pluto is conjunct Michael's Chiron. There are three romantic super-linkages in their composite chart. Parallels are like conjunctions, extremely powerful. Their Suns are conjunct and superlinkages shown in the parallels.
Will also reviewed key points of Colin Powell and his Wife's wedding day chart. There was a Cinderella aspect where Chiron was conjunct Jupiter and trine Neptune. The Sun was also parallel Uranus. At the midheaven, the Moon was linked to Mars.
Brad Pitt married Jennifer Aniston on a heart break day. The Sun was conjunct Saturn inconjunct Chiron. You don't want Saturn to aspect Chiron on a special day. There was also a nuclear clash - Jupiter parallel conjunct Saturn parallel the Sun. Saturn wore down the energies of this very dynamic couple. There were two strong aspects that were difficult to overcome. You can find these charts on the Magi website.
Jack Nicholson and Angelica Houston - Although they stayed together 17 years, they had a Saturn clash, and a heart break clash in their composite chart.
Judy wrapped up the talk by explaining the 10 principles of Magi Astrology:
1. The most likely time to meet your true love is during a Cinderella transit.
2. The more Cinderella transits you are having, the more likely you are to meet your true love.
3. If you meet someone when you are having a heartbreak transit, it is likely this person will break your heart.
4. If a couple does not form a Romantic Super Linkage, it is unlikely that they will marry.
5. If a couple form a heartbreak clash, it is very likely that their relationship will end in heartbreak.
6. If a couple form a Sexual Linkage, they have to be careful not to mistake lust for love.
7. The more linkages a couple form, the more compatible they are.
8. The more clashes a couple form, the more incompatible they are.
9. If a couple form more clashes than linkages, they are not compatible.
10. If a couple marry on a bad astrological day, their marriage will likely result in heartbreak.
CDs of this talk will be available for $10.00 at the April 17 meeting.
Educational Session:
Helmut Licht discussed the grouping of the astrological signs by element (triplicities) and by mode (quadruplicity). He also discussed the meanings of the three decanates for each sign. Helmut provided detailed handouts.
A CD of this class will be available along with the CD of Judy and Will's talk at the April 17 meeting.
